Senator Tammy Baldwin Visits Mercury Marine, Discusses Congressional Issues

Last week U.S. Senator Tammy Baldwin (D-WI) visited Mercury Marine’s Headquarters in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. The visit was characterized by substantive discussions on pivotal congressional issues, preceding a tour that underscored Mercury's local impact and advocacy efforts within the industry.

Prior to the tour, Senator Baldwin engaged in meaningful dialogue with Mercury and the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAMAW) Lodge 1947, discussing priorities such as NOAA’s proposed vessel speed restriction Rule, Section 301 tariffs, and aluminum extrusion trade issues. Mercury Marine contributes a significant economic impact of $5 billion and employs over 4,200 people in Fond du Lac.

Senator Baldwin was guided through a comprehensive tour of Mercury’s expansive state-of-the-art facility. The tour showcased the company's cutting-edge engine technology, dedication to innovation, and the highly skilled workforce propelling its success.

“We appreciate Senator Baldwin’s support and advocacy for Mercury and the wider marine sector. The Senator's steadfast commitment to advancing pro-manufacturing efforts is admirable,” said Jesse McArdell, NMMA’s Midwest and Northeast policy and engagement manager. “Mercury's dedication to fostering strong community bonds and economic growth in Fond Du Lac speaks volumes about its overarching mission. Thank you to Mercury Marine for hosting Senator Baldwin and NMMA.”
