Due to El Niño storms and poor weather, the 3rd Annual Progressive® Insurance San Francisco Boat Show® is rescheduling to April 29 – May 1. The show was originally scheduled to be held next week, January 15-18, at Pier 48 and McCovey Cove.

Dave Geoffroy, vice president of NMMA West, said, “El Niño is wreaking havoc in San Francisco with unprecedented rain and flooding, creating unsafe conditions which are preventing us from producing the kind of boat show our exhibitors and attendees have come to expect. After talking with exhibitors, we have decided the best course forward is to postpone the Progressive Insurance San Francisco Boat Show to the end of April. We are working closely with exhibitors, and our various partners and vendors, on logistics and will share more detail in the coming weeks. While this is an inconvenience given the last minute change, the good news is that we are able to postpone the show and April’s weather is much more ideal while offering an improved selling environment for exhibitors. In the meantime, we remain focused on the safety of our team, exhibitors, and the Northern California boating community.”

The show expects to present all its currently planned features in April. Exhibitors and attendees will be kept up to date on any changes to the show’s programming as soon as they are made.

Recent National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration reports suggest El Niño will strengthen throughout the winter and decrease in severity in the spring.
