Pathways to Propulsion Decarbonization Focus of IBEX Special Session, Oct. 1

At next month's International BoatBuilders' Exhibition & Conference (IBEX), running Oct. 1-3 at the Tampa Convention Center, NMMA and ICOMIA will host a special session focused on sustainability, titled “Pathways to Propulsion Decarbonization for the Recreational Marine Industry”. The session, located at the new IBEX Main Stage, will highlight some of the technical outcomes of the Pathways to Propulsion Decarbonization report, completed with Ricardo plc.

The informative 60-minute session will feature a discussion with NMMA's Jeff Wasil and ICOMIA’s Joe Lynch, who will discuss the recent study findings, which is the most comprehensive lifecycle assessment ever conducted and investigated propulsion technologies across nine common recreational watercraft to compare the impact of lifetime greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, financial costs, usability, range, performance and infrastructure implications.

The session will also focus on the ongoing engagements with governments and regulators as well as boating industry stakeholders on the technologies and policies needed to further reduce carbon emissions.

Date: Tuesday, Oct. 1
Time: 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
This session is free, but registration is required.
