Virginia Bill Permit for boat trailers of widths over 102”
Virginia Senate Bill 719, which authorizes the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles to issue permits for boat trailer widths that exceed 102 inches but do not exceed 108 inches, has recently passed the House and Senate.
Current law in Virginia does not allow the use of trailers with an outside width that exceeds 102 inches. This new permit will be the same cost as an overweight permit, $20 for a single use, $100 for one year, $200 for two years. The bill is awaiting Governor McAullife’s signature.
