Discover Boating New England Boat Show Welcomes Representative Jake Auchincloss for Show Tour
The Discover Boating New England Boat Show, which ran from February 15-19, 2023 at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center, welcomed U.S. Representative Jake Auchincloss (D-MA-04) on Thursday, February 16 for a tour of the show.
Representative Auchincloss, member of the Congressional Boating Caucus, joined NMMA’s Jon Pritko, Vice President of Northeast Boat Shows, and Massachusetts Marine Trades Association (MMTA) Executive Director Randall Lyons on a tour of the show and spoke with both parties on the importance of the recreational boating industry across New England.
During the visit, Representative Auchincloss discussed with industry stakeholders NOAA’s proposed vessel speed regulation along the vast majority of the Atlantic Coast, the blue economy and workforce challenges. There are several new and existing training programs in New England focused on training the future leaders within the recreational boating and fishing industry.
Representative Auchincloss noted, “Marine science & tech is the most important growth edge for southeastern Massachusetts. I'm committed to promoting jobs and businesses in this sector.”

Business visits with elected officials are critically important opportunities for highlighting the recreational boating industry. Industry stakeholders, NMMA and MMTA members are encouraged to coordinate with state and federal elected officials on scheduling visits to shows, facilities, or plants.
