Discover Boating New England Boat Show Draws Big Crowds, Boat Sales

More than 35,000 boating enthusiasts cruised to Boston last week for the 2023 Discover Boating New England Boat Show, in partnership with Progressive Insurance. Reinforcing the consumer demand to shop new boats as seen at boat shows across the country this winter, the large crowds in New England resulted in solid business transactions for the region’s boating industry.

Marc Soucy of Port Harbor Marine said, “We have had a fantastic show. Saturday was the busiest day I have ever seen at the boat show, and we are selling boats!”

“This is the best show we’ve had in the last 10 years,” noted Peter MacCallum, MacCallum’s Boathouse.

“The traffic has been very good throughout the show. I’m very satisfied,” echoed Larry Russo Sr., Marine Max.

“The show has been amazing. We will be busy fulfilling all of our orders through the entire summer,” said booth exhibitor Taylor Yates, SeaDek Marine.

To enhance and aid in the consumer’s boat shopping journey, New England’s Boat Finder generated more than 20,000 sessions since its December launch, with users spending an average time of 7 minutes minutes on the page, 7 times above the average benchmark of 60 seconds across industries.

With more than 400 new boats on display and for sale, the 2023 Discover Boating New England Boat Show provided (and marketed) something for every boater. In addition to the boats, the show offered a variety of complimentary educational programs including the revamped Fred’s Shed How-To Center, presented by Progressive®, plus new activities to immerse attendees into the boat life including the Paddlesports Experience indoor pool and Goose Hummock Art of Casting Pond.
