Discover Boating Partners with Black Boaters Summit, Celebrating Shared Enthusiasm for Boating and Promote Diversity on the Water

The second annual Black Boaters Summit took place June 15 at Breezy Point Yacht Club in Amityville, N.Y. This event united boating enthusiasts, industry leaders and advocates for a day of celebration leading up to Juneteenth, promoting diversity, inclusion and a strong sense of community on the water.

Discover Boating®, powered by the Marine Retailers Association of the Americas (MRAA) and the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA), partnered with the Summit again to further champion the accessibility of recreational boating for all, celebrate this boating community in New York, and highlight the culture of Black boaters.

"We're thrilled to continue fostering a more inclusive boating community alongside the Black Boaters Summit," said Kevin Williams, NMMA's vice president of North American marketing. "This ongoing partnership reflects our shared belief in the transformative power of boating, and we’re excited to continue showcasing flourishing communities of Black boaters. It was exciting to celebrate the growing community of Black boaters, many of whom traveled from as far as Orlando to participate in this Juneteenth event."

The Black Boaters Summit offered a multifaceted experience. Attendees could network, gain valuable knowledge on various boating topics, and celebrate the achievements and experiences of Black boaters. Discover Boating contributed informative materials and interactive panels with industry experts. Yamaha and Progressive were also key partners, enriching the overall experience.
