NMMA’s 2023 U.S. Exports and Imports Report Now Available

The Boat and Engine Exports and Imports section of NMMA’s 2023 U.S. Recreational Boating Statistical Abstract is now available. This report examines historical and recent trade data on the different categories of recreational boats and marine engines imported to and exported from the U.S. each year. The 2023 report saw notable shifts, reflecting changes in both exports and imports with a slight improvement in the trade balance deficit.

In 2023, the total value of recreational boat and marine engine exports increased by 4% to $2.6 billion, while imports rose by 0.5% to $5.1 billion. Outboard boat exports fell by 4.3% to $511.6 million, while inboard boat exports grew by 33.4% to $406.3 million. Overall, 2023 highlighted the resilience and adaptability of the U.S. marine trade sector amidst global economic challenges and shifting market demands.
