Discover Boating Minneapolis Boat Show Hosts Successful Reception for Elected Officials at the Minneapolis Boat Show
On Wednesday, January 23rd, the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) hosted a reception for elected officials at the Discover Boating Minneapolis Boat Show. The event provided an opportunity for NMMA members and exhibitors to connect with state legislators and local officials.
Boating and fishing are deeply engrained in the land of 10,000 lakes and recreational boating and fishing contribute more than $6 billion in economic impact annually and support over 25,000 jobs and 700 businesses in Minnesota.
“I’m grateful for the invitation to attend the Minneapolis Boat Show this year,” said Minnesota State Senator Jason Rasmusson, (R-08). “I’ve been attending boat shows for many years given my family’s background in the marine industry. I appreciated the opportunity to connect with marine leaders from our region and across the state and to witness firsthand the latest innovations in the marine industry.”
Reception attendees included state legislators, mayors, city council members, and county commissioners who were eager to discuss several critical matters facing the marine industry in Minnesota including recreation access, burdensome extended producer responsibility requirements, and continued investments in the state’s boating infrastructure.
“We greatly appreciate the participation and attendance of all State Representatives and Senators at our reception this year,” said Jesse McArdell, Midwest Policy Manager for the National Marine Manufacturers Association. “The Discover Boating Minneapolis Boat Show continues to provide an exciting opportunity to foster connections between NMMA member companies and elected officials, all while showcasing the latest products on the market.”
