Deadline Approaching: Submit Comments on Copper Imports Investigation by April 1
The U.S. Department of Commerce is currently conducting a Section 232 investigation to determine the impact of copper imports on U.S. national security. The investigation covers copper in all forms, including raw mined copper, copper concentrates, refined copper, copper alloys, scrap copper, and derivative products.
This investigation has important implications for domestic manufacturing, including the recreational boating industry, as copper is a key material used in marine engines, electrical systems, and other critical components. NMMA is encouraging members to participate in this process and share how copper availability and pricing impact marine manufacturing and supply chains.
The deadline to submit written comments, data, and relevant information is April 1, 2025.
For details on the investigation and instructions for submitting comments, contact Clay Crabtree, NMMA’s Senior Director of Public Policy: [email protected].
NMMA will continue to monitor this investigation closely as part of our commitment to keeping U.S. marine manufacturing globally competitive.
